Coogans. An Investment in the Future.
Trusted for over 100 years
After many changes over the years, the company is still run by direct descendants of William Coogan. More than 100 years later, Coogans is still a household name around Tasmania, providing local finance and lending options.  With a proud local heritage, Coogans continues to deliver simple, supportive financial solutions.
Transition to household finance provider
Since 1876, Coogans has been part of Tasmania’s story, initially building and importing some of Australia’s finest furniture and homewares. 1903 saw William Coogan pioneer a finance system that set the standard for what we do today, making life easier, and allowing customers to make a purchase with credit and finance options.
Coogans has always been a story that embodies the history of its staff and the Tasmanian community in which it serves. Today, this is still true. Founded by William Coogan in 1876, the business has evolved from making and selling furniture to providing financial services. There is an absolute confidence and trust in the Coogans’ brand achieved from a family business spanning nearly 150 years across multiple generations.
